Honey Teriyaki Wings

My love of wings started in college with the Monday night football special. Then there was the best wing place to pick up dinner on my way home from work. But then it was time to grow up and move away from the college town. And apparently away from a good wing location.

My husband and I had to start making our own wings at home. Which is hard to do unless you really want to invest in a fryer and deal with all that oil. And grilling the wings just isn’t the same to me, so it was off to the oven to get that crispy skin.

In order to get that crispy skin you need to take a little time and some baking powder. I start with trimming off any excess skin on the chicken and patting the wings dry with a paper towel.  Then lightly cover both sides of the wings with baking powder.

Place the wings on a baking tray with rack in a 250 degree preheated oven and cook them fro 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes crank up the heat to 425 degrees and cook for another 40 minutes or until done.  Now the wings are ready to be sauced.
